Immersive UI
Electric scooters are a rapidly growing trend in the market, and I am thrilled to have contributed to an EV scooter project featuring modular, easily fixable, and dismantlable parts. The mobile app serves as the core interface for controlling the scooter's features and functionalities. As the consultant UX lead for Aryabhatta Motors, my role was to simplify and streamline the user flow.
How might we...
Simplify the process of assembling and connecting modular scooter parts, create an intuitive interface for switching between functional modes, and establish a cohesive design system that builds user confidence and enhances accessibility?
Quicker. Brighter. Lighter
Designing for worlds first Modular Electric Scooter
Aryabhatta Motors, an EV scooter startup founded by a former Tesla engineer Mr. Vidhyadar Gurrer, with a decade of experience, is transforming the industry by combining modular product experience with Tesla-like innovation. I was UX/UI Designer for Integrated Mobile Application for EV Scooter, I am thrilled to contribute to this groundbreaking product that has the potential to reshape how people perceive, experience, and interact with electric vehicles.

"This isn't just an app with regular buttons—it's the core of the EV scooter, integral to its experience and functionality."
- Founder
I took the founder's statement literally and replaced all traditional buttons in the concepts with toggle switches . The approach resonated strongly, and both the founder and the team were thrilled with the result.

The goal of the project was to create an immersive scooter app UI that directs the user’s attention solely to the scooter and its parts.
Designing a UI that complemented the scooter while supporting users' confirmation biases required significant effort. The app's interface needed to convey functionality intuitively, without relying on excessive text or explanations that could detract from the experience.
Drawing on my previous experience collaborating with founders and working on innovative projects, I brought a fresh perspective to UX and UI design. These projects often required unconventional approaches, moving away from traditional design norms to deliver unique solutions. In this case, the well-defined user profile provided a strong foundation for crafting an experience that aligned seamlessly with user expectations and needs.

I led the design for this transformation to uphold and advance the brand's vision. The process involved rapid iterations to refine the concept:
-
Iteration 1: Rejected.
-
Iteration 2: Rejected.
-
Iteration 3: Rejected.
For Iteration 4, I completely reimagined the approach, eliminating all traditional buttons and content. This process was iterated through multiple rounds, incorporating insights gained from each user testing session.
The focus was placed entirely on the scooter, complemented by a minimalist design with just a few toggle switches. Not only was this iteration approved, but it was also highly praised by both the team and the founder for aligning perfectly with the brand's vision.

Once users configure the functionality, they rarely make frequent changes. To deliver immersive real-time updates with minimal distractions, we moved the options off-screen, allowing users to focus on what truly matters.
